Canberra!!!

This weekend we went on a road trip to Canberra, all 678 km from Melbourne, well the main purpose is to renew Mum's passport, which expired ages ago! Fancy that......

Arrived at the Canberra city tourist information centre. I thought I'll make a call

Look at Ryan speaking on the phone with such poise
(We don't know anyone in Canberra, for the record)
The Parliament of Australia.
I distinctively recognise this building as the "Flag"!

Contemplative pool

It is not just water, it is free flowing, transparent and clear.............

Inside the Parliament House main reception hall

Children's art on display at the gallery

And this is an interesting piece of artwork

On our way back from the Malaysian embassy, we were greeted with a nice piece of architecture when we rounded the bend. This is the Embassy of Finland. Cool huh, Scandinavian architecture...

The Finnish embassy seen from another perspective.

The more traditional Hyatt Hotel Canberra. We thought we were back home in Singapore or Malaysia with this pseudo-colonnial architectural style!

The National Museum of Australia.
I called this the "funny" roof!!!

With Mum outside the entrance of the Museum

The entrance broadwalk

An old Globe...... my favourite now are maps and atlases

picturesque gallery

Exploring the Garden of Australian Dreams

Double-U!!!

Happy!!!

Strolling along the terrace near the jetty

The National Portrait Gallery

Resting after a long day

No trip is complete without a visit to the Thomas and Friends display table at Myers in the city centre. That's the best part of it all!!!
